Enjoy scratch-made food, craft cocktails, and local beer while testing your knowledge with friends all while raising money for the Dominican Republic Global Health Initiative with the UMASS Nursing School! Prizes are awarded to the top three teams, and the atmosphere is always lively, fun, and welcoming. Gather your crew for great vibes and a midweek night out!

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US…

Birch Tree Bread Company and Crust Bakeshop both opened in Worcester in 2014, enriching the community we love so much. Alexis began working at Crust in 2014 as a baker, and although Nate worked next door at Armsby Abbey since 2015, they truly began working together full-time at Crust in 2018, a year after Alexis purchased the bakery.

Both Alexis and Nate trained in culinary school and have collectively spent over four decades in restaurants and kitchens. Their shared passion for food shines through in every handcrafted meal, spreading joy, love, and simply delicious flavors to every guest.

From the moment they discovered Birch Tree was for sale in 2021—just after welcoming their second child—they felt like this was finally their opportunity to move forward in pursuing a long-held dream of opening a restaurant. The last three years have been filled with challenges, growth, and countless learning experiences, but they wouldn’t trade a single moment.

Two things remain true about Birch Tree. First, the food is unparalleled. Every dish is made from scratch, from breads baked fresh daily and hand-cut fries to house-made salad dressings and creamy aiolis—you can taste the love and care in every bite. Second, the space itself, “the Tree,” is truly special. Over the years, it has hosted weddings, bridal showers, birthday parties, retirement lunches, friends reuniting, and everyday gatherings. It’s perfect for families, remote work, dates, or simply enjoying a beautiful meal in a welcoming atmosphere.

Every day, Alexis and Nate walk into the space feeling grateful for the opportunity to carry on the traditions Rob and Avra began in 2014. They are proud to serve the Worcester community with food made from the heart, and they can’t wait to feed you.
